This is especially true for organizations moving away from traditional spreadsheets to interactive and automated dashboards. Thankfully, there are several techniques that can elevate text tables from good to great, especially when it comes to formatting Sub-Total and Grand Total rows.&nbsp; Read on to learn three quick &amp; easy techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rename the header<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click on the Total or Grand Total row and select \u201cFormat\u201d from the drop-down menu.&nbsp; This opens a formatting pane on the left, which allows you to type in a custom header for your Total and\/Grand Total rows.&nbsp; In this example, I\u2019ve renamed Total as Sub-Total, and Grand Total as Total (All Categories).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"621\" src=\"https:\/\/sarahpallett.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Subtotals-6-1024x621.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-161\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sarahpallett.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Subtotals-6-1024x621.png 1024w, https:\/\/sarahpallett.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Subtotals-6-300x182.png 300w, https:\/\/sarahpallett.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Subtotals-6-768x466.png 768w, https:\/\/sarahpallett.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Subtotals-6-600x364.png 600w, https:\/\/sarahpallett.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Subtotals-6.png 1213w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Highlight with Color<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To draw attention to the total rows, you can customize the shading.
